AACDT Point System

Point System for Earning an AACDT Championship Title

Announcement: As a new organization, the AACDT will honor championship titles earned by a Coton de Tulear, over 6 months of age, prior to the date of AACDT open membership: May 1, 2008.

Championship titles are recognized from the following:

American Coton de Tulear Club

United States of American Coton de Tulear Club

These dogs will automatically be AACDT champions and can compete as such. An AACDT championship certificate will be issued upon request. AACDT will also accept points and/or majors earned in these systems towards an AACDT Championship.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to obtain an AACDT Championship a WIN SHEET Form must be filled out for each show day and submitted within 30 days of the show date in order to obtain both Ranking points and or Championship points.  The form may be submitted by email or regular mail but must be received within the 30 day period.  Please send the Win Sheet Form filled out completely to: Debra Nemrow, 13955 Break of Day Ct., Chino Hills,  CA  91709 or email to danemrow@hotmail.com . If the form is emailed, save the filled out PDF form to your computer and then attach it in your email.  In the subject area of the email please print AACDT WIN SHEET.  For further clarification please contact the Points Chairman, Debra Nemrow.

How to Earn an AACDT Championship Title

Points are solely based on the numbers of Coton de Tulear in competition. Championship point are earned by:

Achieving a total of 15 points, including 2 majors, under 2 different judges

Winners dog / winners bitch

1 point for every dog defeated of the same sex

3 to 5 dogs defeated of the same sex are considered a "major". For example, to receive a three point major, there must be 4 dogs of the same sex entered. EXCEPTION: *Best of Winners...explained below. No more than 5 points can be awarded in one show.

The Points toward a Championship shall be awarded to the Winners Dog and Winners Bitch based on the actual number of dogs or bitches competing. If the dog designated Winners Dog of Winners Bitch is also awarded Best of Breed, the dogs of both sexes that have been entered for Best of Breed competition and that have been defeated in such competition, shall be counted in addition to the dogs that completed in the regular classes for its sex in calculating championship points.

If the dog designated Winners Dog or Winners Bitch is also awarded Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, the dogs of its own sex that have been entered for Best of Breed that have been defeated in competition for Best of Opposite Sex, shall be counted in addition to the dogs that completed in the regular classes for its sex in calculating championship points.

*After points have been computed for Winners Dog and Winners Bitch subject to the above two stipulations, the dog awarded the Best of Winners shall be credited with the number of points calculated for Winners Dog or Winners Bitch, whichever is greater.

Number of Dogs in Competition

Any dog that is excused, disqualified or dismissed by the judge in the show ring, will not be counted as qualifying points.

Tabulation of Ranking Points

Ranking points will be admissable from the following USA show systems:

American Rare Breed Association: Cotons, minimum age 6 months

Canine Kennel Club: Cotons, minimum age 6 months

International All Breed Canine Association: Cotons, minimum age 16 months

Iabaca "all breed" show points only will be accepted for wd, wb, bob, group and best in show points

North American Kennel Club: Cotons, minimum age 6 months

Points will be accepted for wd, wb, bob, group, reserve best in show and best in show from the adult best in show competition only.

United Kennel Club: Cotons, minimum age 6 months (AACDT will include champion dogs/bitches when tabulating points in the ukc)

Schedule of Points

Winners dog/winners bitch = 25 points

Best of winners = no points

Best Opposite Sex = 30 points

Best of Breed = 50 points, plus the number of Cotons defeated

Group 1 = 100 points, plus the number of dogs defeated in the group

Group 2 = 90 points, plus the number of dogs defeated in the group

Group 3 = 80 points, plus the number of dogs defeated in the group

Group 4 = 70 points, plus the number of dogs defeated in the group

Reserve Best in Show = 125 points, plus Group and Best of Breed, plus the number of dogs defeated in the Best in Show ring

Best in Show = 250 points, plus Group and Best of Breed, plus the number of dogs defeated in Best in Show ring.
